It just blows me away how difficult this seems to be for them. Sometimes I wonder how companies make money. This really shouldn't be rocket science. A few weeks ago the MLS released their schedule. They can send that schedule to the DK folks. Now they have a schedule of possible games. And then as each club finalizes their TV plans, some of those possible games become "final" and get some added detail like what channel they're on and such. But DK seems to put zero out for info. So when you call your cable provider for info, they're asking you if it's the same as the premeirship package or some of that stuff. Pure craziness!

Going from my long, long, long, long history of kicking Comcast around about the package, this isn't the fault of MLS or InDemand, this is the fault of the cable companies. Many many times I would talk to somebody at Comcast who was completely clueless about the package, then I would drop InDemand an email, which they would promptly respond to telling me that they had transferred the info to Comcast, but it had not filtered down to the phone reps yet. They would go complain to Comcast, and I would get what I needed.

At one point I had so many problems that the regional manager/VP of Comcast called me at home, apologized for their continual screwups, and refunded the price of the package. Free soccer! Of course, that didn't help the next year when I had to start all over traingin Comcast on how to work their systems.

It's been much easier since I moved to Phoenix (Cox territory). With the exception of the first weekend in 2004 and the first day of playoffs last year, everything has been perfect. Call up, order the package, turn on TV, get game. I'm assuming that's due to the greater number of socce fans in this market compared to the NW corner of Washington.

Just got a response from Cox (San Diego). I can purchase the package on April 2nd. Right. So much for opening weekend.

BUT, it's still only $69 and worth every bit of that.

Thanks for the scoop. That makes sense. I had comcast in MPLStown and that was the usual experience I had. I remember calling for their premeirship package and the person helping me was trying to be nice but I thought I was trying to order the same package I already had (the MLS package). Afterall, how much soccer could the cable company be selling? 🙂
