Hey don't we have an open slot with Rowland being sidelined for the season?

No I think Acosta is getting Rowland's spot.
But O'Brien? If healthy, he would be totally awesome for RSL!

O'Brien is a SoCal and CDCUSA should have a fistfull of You Suck Allocations.
Why needs him? We have Ballouchy! It's not over until we say it's over!

Oh boy...
sometimes the "you suck" allocation comes up big... Chivas with O'Brien...probably middle of the pack in the West...ouch

How so? You figure that the 3 games that he would actually play for them would somehow propel them to the middle of the pack?

Perhaps you have missed the fact that most of the season actually occurs after the WC...some 18-20 games...a fact which brings me great relief when I consider we may lose 3 players to the WC. Or are you merely implying O'brien would only be healthy for 3 games this year? Last edited by utah_heretic : 03-20-2006 at 05:53 PM.

Yeah, that one. I hadn't even thought of the WC. I think JOB is one of my favorite players when healthy. I hope he can go for a good injury-free stretch here for the next couple of years.

I love J.O.B. but given his history of injuries and what it would cost the club to get him, I hope they don't go after landing him. First thing RSL would need to do is land themselves Chivas' spot. So that's going to mean giving Chivas something nice and pretty to get that spot. And then to add to it surely JOB is going to be getting at least max salary if not more. And WHEN he ends up missing 20 games in the season to injury, where does it get the club?
JOB is incredibly talented. Who knows, he may have been able to push Reyna to another spot on the pitch with the nats by now. But the guy is just plain out cursed and it's probably genetics. Genetics that he's a super human athlete but also that when pushed the very edge his body tends to break down. I could be wrong. Landing John could be a great move. I hope for his sake it turns tou to be that. but right now trying to convince me it's a good move is like trying to convince me that buying Google at $350/ share is going to be worth it. It could pay off nicely but I think there's a lot more probable that it isn't going to be a good buy. __________________

Last night on Maximum Soccer Max Bretos said that John O'Brien is going to play for LA Galaxy. No other details though.
