They just had a lil' blurb on the noon news about how drinking alcohol with drinks like Red Bull confuses the brain. So even though people are drunk they don't feel as drunk as normally would. I wonder what the affects of Red Bull with grass are. Maybe it's keeping the NY fans from realizing they're still doomed?

How would drinking red bull and alcohol be any different than drinking coke and alcohol.

It is simply caffeine it is not some evil spirited demon that wants to devour your soul and make you think you are not drunk.
LOL
Remember they used to say that tomatoes were poisonous and that germs were in your imagination.... and that the world was flat... and that you could not get pregnant if you did it while standing up... and that one drink of alcohol will make you slobbering drunk...

Oh wait... they still believe some of those things in Nephi!

LOL!

I suppose I will carry on being brain confused with my red bull and vodka... I drink it all the time and I am normal... or am I? 😉

Actually I am wrong about it being a derivitive of caffeine...
here is this... http://www.wholehealthmd.com/refshelf/substances_view/0,1525,10059,00.html
Quote:
Taurine, an amino acid derivative found in meat and other animal foods (except for milk and milk products), appears to shield the heart from harm. It's best known for empowering bile acids to clear cholesterol from the body. It may also fight cellular troublemakers that can damage the heart. Studies in animals suggest that taurine lowers blood pressure as well--yet another heart-healthy property. Although research has produced conflicting results, taurine may also benefit vision disorders, epilepsy, and gallstones.
.

and this http://www.nutriline.org/gluconurolactone.htm
Quote:
Glucuronolactone is found naturally in the body. It's most likely hepatoprotective, meaning it will reduce ill effect or even improve the physical state and function of the liver, which is where the metabolism of glucose begins enzymatically.

By protecting glycogen stores and their synthesis, Glucuronolactone is an ergogenic aid that can help to fuel both exercise performance and recovery. Some of the benefits linked with Glucuronolactone include its effect as an aid to memory retention, concentration and reaction time. It may also promote a positive mood. Glucuronolactone may also be helpful in ridding the body of harmful substances and providing an instant energy boost.

Studies show that energy drinks containing glucuronolactone can reduce sleepiness and boost energy, as well as improve alertness and reaction time [1, 2]. Taken with caffeine and taurine, Austrian researchers have also shown that glucuronolactone has "positive effects upon human mental performance and mood."

hmmm sounds like red bull is good for you... but maybe not... I am no pharmacologist!
