She has a point. Why couldn't Real just play soccer on an already-existing volleyball court or ice hockey rink somewhere?

Obviously the writer has never tried to watch a hockey game in the Delta Center, a pointy-ball game in a baseball/football combined stadium or a basketball game from dress circle behind the basket in the old Salt Palace.

Better yet, let's just commandeer someone's backyard and everyone can bring lawn chairs...

Then again that field at the elementary school n Park City is a great location... as Clarette says we can all bring lawn chairs
but of course we will have to change the name to Real Park City... I mean it is not Salt Lake or Sandy anymore 🙄 The scary part about all of this is that the newspapers, opinion writers and columnists, are asking people that don't know anything or very little at best of the situation to vote on it... while they feed them with half truths and outright inaccuracies. Now i don't know as much about the deal as I should and I obviously claim to know more than I do which has been so eliquently pointed out by a couple of folks. I do know that the newspapers are not being fair on the issue and that upsets me! I have made my points in the past so I will just express my disappointment with the handling of the stadium issue by the papers... even though their handling of actual RSL news has been phenomenal and the envy of most other MLS markets

It's the inconsistency that upsets me. When venues like the Delta Center, E Center, and Franklin-Covey field were proposed, there wasn't anywhere near the "let the team pay for it themselves" sentiment coming out of the local press. Imagine if back in the 80s, the Jazz were back in the Salt Palace and saying they needed a much larger arena with luxury boxes to stay in the NBA and writers were saying that Larry Miller should pay all the costs of a new arena or that the public should have their say. Imagine if we had a public vote on whether to have taxpayers help fund the Delta Center. Take a voter who is not a basketball fan considering the issue, and thinks "gee let Larry Miller who has $$$$$$ worth of car lots pay for the whole arena or MY taxes help pay for an arena where I will never watch a game. The team already HAS the Salt Palace that county taxes paid for back in the last 60s. I vote NO on the arena bond issue"

Here's a supporting opinion from a remote soccer fan. (Where is Ivins?)

Looks like it is near St. George! Some folks flew or drove from Dallas and LA, DC and Illinios... you name it... That does not even count the folks that came from Costa Rica and the UK.
