Ellinger believes Ballouchy's performance was about what you'd expect from a rookie — inconsistent. "I still think he was a little too casual at times," said Ellinger. "There has to be more urgency when you have to get behind somebody and get tight on somebody." __________________

I was kinda suprised to see it looking like Meola will pick up his 100th cap in the run-in to the World Cup. I didn't think BA was looking at him that seriously. Could he really end up being the #3 keeper in Germany? If not, why not get Timmy out there?

The Bruce is just throwing Meola a bone and letting him get his 100th cap and then he will probably retire from international duty.
I doubt Man U. would let Timmy come over for this game since the bench might get all cold without him over there. He needs to get loaned to a team that will play him. | |||||

Marsch talks Chivas vs. RSL
http://www.mlsnet.com/MLS/news/mls_news.jsp?ymd=20060405&content_id=55400&vkey=news_mls&fext=.jsp "Everyone had high expectations coming into the match, so in that sense it was good to go out and win our first game in convincing fashion. But when you watch the tape, you can see there's a lot of room for improvement." "There were stretches that were very good. I would say the first 20-25 minutes were in that category. But once we got the 2-0 lead, it almost seemed like we slowed down a little bit. Salt Lake raised its game at that point too, but during preseason, we tried to increase the number of minutes of good soccer in each game. So, in our opening game we played about 45 minutes of good soccer. Most games in this league are going to require a lot more than 45 minutes of good soccer." "(DC United) is going to be a completely different challenge for us, the level of the game, playing a good team and being on the road. There's a lot of guys on our team who will see how different this is. It's going to have a different feel. A different pace." So, as I felt, Chivas played well, but it really wasn't a stellar game for them (rather ugly comment on our game), RSL couldn't remotely compete with only 45 minutes of "good soccer", and this week, Chivas will face a "good team", as opposed to last week... ⚽ Geoff ----------------------- REGULATORS!
