I was thinking today about RSL. At first it was the usual frustration and anger about how disappointing the team's play was against Chivas. It was almost outrage that we have so much passion for the team and they don't give us anything to cheer about. I mean it was hard last session, but we kept on supporting them hoping this season would be better. I still hope it can. But today I realized that it doesn't matter how well they play against Dallas...I am still going to be there when they play the Red Bulls and I am guessing so are all of you. So...I suggest we put our energy and passion into that game. That is the only game we will have any impact on. I don't care if they lay an egg in Texas...we are all still going to be at the game on 4/15. Why don't we make it the best home opener MLS has ever seen. Like last year let's put our heads together now making the best banners, signs, flags, confetti, cheers, taunts, etc. Let's use our energy to be the 12th man on the field even if we will be better than the other 11. Well that was my idea so I hope that the rest of you loyalists will help me and let's get some great things planned for the first game we can really impact. We have got 2 weeks to get something great together, because you know we will all be there and we might as well party instead of mope. Hell we might even inspire the team.

This is the best post I've ever read on this site. Even if RSL goes 0-32-0 this year, having a robust fanbase is going to be important for a few reasons.
1. A lot of casual fans go because they love the atmosphere - atmosphere provided 100% by the Loyalists, RCB, and Samba Gringa. The supporter's groups are essential if we want to maintain high attendance.
2. And, the county council will be watching attendance figures this year. It will be a factor in deciding whether to approve the stadium funds. They want to see the ROI, and better attendance equals faster ROI.
3. Great fan support, especially for a bad team, catches the attention of opposing players. They end up wanting to play for RSL (see Chris Klein, Cunningham) where their efforts are appreciated. So if we end up retooling again, it helps ensure we'll do so with good players.

I don't care if that Chivas game ends up being our best game of the year - I'm going to every game, period.

16 wins = 48 points. I'd really like to get at least one road win this year, however.

I think that RBNY is going to have its hands full here on the 15th, and I hope we don't lay an egg in Dallas. I hope we play well, and even though I think we're going to lose, I think that the team can prove a lot to us and themselves in that game. Let's hope they do it. I'm bringing 8 people to the opener with me and we will all be cheering and yelling but we are also going to be harassing Meola (or whoever) from both E corners in Rice-Eccles (we have KFC tix, and I love E32...). I think that it would be very cool to have a huge, supportive banner for our team (maybe even just RSL colors), kind of like those big banners I saw in the Bombonera 2 weeks ago. I'm not too hip on the logistics of that kind of stuff, however. I know that there are going to be lots of flags, and I might go buy a few Romanian flags before gameday as well, so that will all help. I will also be sporting the red mohawk while a good friend of mine will have a red goatee. For a little team spirit 🙂 Other than that, is anyone bringing streamers for the end of the game? What else can we do???

It would sure be nice to have some backup over in E41 as well. Could we establish a loyalist "outpost" there?? 😁 I think we need supporters groups in all four corners...We all need to support our team if we want it to stay here. I just hope to see more effort out of our guys in the future, because the Chivas game was painful to watch. Not one bit of fun. I'm RSL til I die, regardless, but I'm not a masochist.

I like the flag thread. Those flags look great. I remember last year people were talking about a confetti cannon. I like that idea better than the streamers on the field. Did anyone find out about how much those cost? Or maybe we could get a bunch of confetti and throw that. Also do we have any way of making fun of the red bulls?! I am sure there is some really good material with the off season they have had. Do we have any new cheers for them this year?

There will be a whole lot of flags to wave in E32 on gameday, and a whole lot of other things to play with as well. I think the most important thing we need is PEOPLE! Bring any friends you can convince to come. We need people who are willing to wave these flags! Our box of unused flags is a great idea, but only insomuch as there are people who want to use the unused flags. There will be plenty of flags. We've always had more flags than people willing to use them. If you are standing in E32, and your hands are free, you need to get yourself a flag! I have eight ready to go, and I may have several more by the time apr. 15th arrives. There are several other folks who also have several extras. Just grab them and wave. All the pictures of the cool supporter groups in Europe and South America are only cool because they do these things with massive numbers. Recruit every nutty person you know to come out and enjoy themselves. There's no sporting event more enjoyable than an evening with the Loyalists. Come willing to SING and PARTICIPATE!

Bring streamers. We will do a streamer salute at the end of every game. More info is forth coming on that whole deal, once I finish putting my banner together. If you bring streamers, please roll them into 40' rolls. That is taking one of those rolls you buy at walmart and dividing it in two. It's simple and not very time consuming. I have over 150 rolls in my closet ready for this season. I would appreciate some help from anyone who also wants to bring some.

Anyone who is interested in this kind of stuff, get with me at the Watch Party this Saturday. We can plan this stuff out much better when we can actually speak with each other.

Can I just say something really quick about the streamer salute. Do you really feel the need to do it at the end of every game? I originally suggested it at the end of last season to celebrate a fun first season. I personally feel that it's not as special if you do it after every game. It might be more of a thing for special games, like the last one or when we win the RMC 😉. Doing it after the first game would be fine too, just not every single game.

Anyway, that's just my opinion. Carry on.
