LA has got issues

Landon Donovan is not feeling so hot about his Galaxy after having accrued 1 point from 2 home games: “I honestly feel like I’m on a high school team sometimes with the decisions people are making and the things people are doing. We were able to hide things a lot last year because we put together four good games at the end of the year, but it doesn’t hide the fact that we have some issues.” (from the Press Enterprise)

Another disgruntled MLSer is Dallas' Ronnie O'Brien. He did not even suit up for the win last Saturday and told reporters to ask the coach why he wasn't on the team. Rumors say he is going to NY in exchange for their unhappy midfielder Amado Guevara, but the players agent says no dice.

I'm wondering if there isn't something else going on there. Maybe ROB is looking to get out of the league in time for the new season in england next august?

I really appreciated that article because it reflected some of my thoughts about Landon Donovan. I have been a Donovan fan for several years now. I used to go to the Earthquake games when I lived in the Bay Area in 2000, but I was very disappointed to see him return from Leverkusen so quickly. I can't fault him for the decisions that he makes in his life, but it seemed that he would never reach his soccer potential in the MLS. Watching Convey play in the friendly against Germany I was amazed at the progress in his game and I thought that Landon Donovan could have made similar progress if he were to stick out the rough times in Europe much like Convey did to earn his spot at Reading. It is too bad for the National Team that he doesn't make the move to Europe. It seems that even he is frustrated at the level of play in a league where he is a big fish in a small pond.

also Chalan, think about who he plays with. He's splitting a lot of time between the US team (a great squad) and his own club. He has to see the difference every time he switches clubs.
