So what if we've given up six goals and only scored two in three games.

Both of ours were Goals of the Week!

But.

I think I'd rather have something more to show than one point.

And IMO, therein lies the problem. Obviously we have a strong fanbase and some help from *ahem* someone's computer hacking skills. But the fact is, our two goals were both GOTW worthy. It concerns me that our goals are all highlight reel material......getting easy goals is a sign of a team playing well, and right now we're not seeing those. I'd like to see more easy goals that don't get nominated for GOTW, and in the name of all that's sacred and holy, someone PLEASE score a goal in the run of play (i.e. not off a set piece).

I just can't get excited about this stuff. These polls are for entertainment purposes only--no one is being elected to public office based on them.

If GOTW really mattered, we'd have a better league record. As I've said, I''d trade all these "awards" for wins any day of the week.

There is no way to objectively determine which goal is better than the others. It is and always will be a matter of opinion. Why does a bike invariably win? Because fans think bikes are cool. Does that make a bike a better goal than a 40 yard free kick that curves just under the crossbar? Let the debate begin.

If the league wants to do a better job at maintaining a one-fan-one-vote system, fine by me. But it will still just be a matter of opinion.

I don't buy into the view that the longer the shot, the greater the goal. For me, the build-up to the goal is an important part of the goal.

I would take a goal that progressed across half the pitch and ended up in the back of the net over a long bomb any day.

The bomb is impressive, but the skill involved in dribbling and passing adds to the beauty of the goal. That is why most goal highlight reels start several moments before the goal with its build-up, etc.

I say that all goals should be judged against this one (first on page):

Only an Argentine could put the Hand of God and the Goal of the Century in the back of the net in the same game...

AGUANTE MARADONA! AGUANTE ARGENTINA! AGUANTE BOCA!!!

Kreis and Mina both had great goals. Kreis deserved to win because Mina's was so obviously an intended cross.
