FC Barcelona Matches

Just curious as to general opinion here:

What do you think of FC Barcelona playing three matches in the U.S., but only playing 1 MLS team (the crappy RBNY :banpoop:) ?

Is it scheduling conflicts, or is it a glimpse into the way the rest of the world views the MLS?

If I were the Galaxy, FC Dallas, or the Dynamo's I would be pissed that they would schedule a game in my city with a team from Mexico. Especially the defending MLS champion Galaxy!

Well... consider this...
Barcelona playing against a Mexican team is a 100% full stadium for sure!

ye... it's a tour for you to see ur fav stars and all.... but specially for them to make some money (yeah, even more) (both the mls stadium n the teams)

you are right, playing just one MLS team in the US sounds stupid, but playing 2 with Mexican teams sounds like cash flowing everywhere! (think of California and all the mex ppl living there)
it's not a charity thing for the Mexican national team playing in the US...
as bad as this might sound... the incomes are bigger than we imagine!

it's not the first time the MLS brings an European team to play with, Chelsea is coming... so I think if any other team would like to play against any of those teams, well they can ... Galaxy has the money....
they don't have to worry about running out of money, cause the income in the match against "any" Mexican team will give them enough to call any team in their dreams!
uhm... then again that's what I think...

But on the other hand, a Rafa Marquez-Cobi Jones rematch would be fun to watch.......

I have to admit that I was put off by their tour decisions. It did seem to be a bit of European snobbery to me. I have to admit that I don't know what their motivations were. I agree with the previous post that the economics of playing Mexican sides had to be an appeal for them. I also thought it was interesting that they play the Red Bulls out of any team in the MLS since they have European owners. I am sure they also wanted to exploit the New York market. But all in all I was upset by their decision to shun our teams and then when they play one of the MLS teams to not pick one of our stronger teams.
