And where'd Novak come from? Another experiment in moving a midfielder to defender? I can think of a much better formation using the same exact players.

How about:
------------ Garlick
Forko-- Akwari-- Talley-- Torres
------------- Cutler
-------- Klein------ Novak
----------- Ballouchy
----- Cunningham-- Kreis

It seems to me that this puts players much more in their natural positions.
Is it just me or does it get worse the farther you go back?

I think it was a 4-4-2. It would be even sillier if it were a 3-5-2 and Novak playing on the same side as Klein with Mehdi on the other side.

If you wanted to play a 3-5-2, here's what I would do with those same players:

------------ Garlick
-- Akwari-- Torres -- Forko
-----Talley-------- Cutler
------ Klein------ Novak
----------- Ballouchy
----- Cunningham-- Kreis

It might be useful to note that the senior squad lost to the dev squad using this formation by a score of 2-0, with very few moments of offensive threat

Boy, that instills a lot of confidence. Maybe you got it all wrong. Maybe the team you thought were the starters were actually the second team. Sounds to me like maybe we should be sending the "second team" out instead.

Exactly what I have been saying from the begining! But no ones listening up there. LMAO

I gues Talley's two assists were not enough! :jawdrop: Finally something worked for us this time. Let's see if it can continue with our next game.

Let me get this straight; this is what RSL used on Saturday, right?

------------ Garlick
Novak-- Akwari-- Torres-- Forko
------------ Talley
- Klein------------------ Cutler
---------- Ballouchy
-------- Harris-- Kreis

Subs were Cunningham for Harris.

Correct?

You're right. Talley proved me wrong and was my player of the game. Good for him.

I think that for the long-term, I'd still rather see Mehdi in the middle though.

It was more like a flat midfield.

----------Garlick
Novak-- Akwari-- Torres-- Forko
--------Talley - Cutler
Klein------------------ Ballouchy
-------- Harris-- Kreis

Cunningham came on for Harris and played alone on top with Kries dropping back as a withdrawn forward.

It ended up being more like a 4 - 5 - 1. Other than Cutler, the midfielders were rather fluid in their postioning.
