Second - When does U of U start football practice? Isn't it at least 3 weeks before their first game? That would be about August 12. Do you think they want sod on their turf while practicing?
I don't know. This makes too much sense.
I'm pretty sure the Trib staffers would have a difficult time comprehending it.

I'm even more cynical. I think they do understand it. They just don't mention it because it doesn't fit their spin.

If Barca can play Red Bulls on turf in August, then Madrid can play on turf at RES.

However, I am sure Beckham and friends much rather play on grass at the Coug.

I don't know but how many seats does Giants stadium have? And how many does RES have?
I don't think turf is the issue! I think it is butts in seats that is the issue!
LES has about 20,000 more seats than RES and more than likely will have butts in them.

Regarding RES vs. LES:
Someone needs to remind the county politicians that our game is not politics, we play soccer. We have chosen LES for the benefits it provides to our game, not their game. Clearly RES is the better choice if our interests were entirely political and for the purpose of providing econ for the county. This is not "a slap in the face" to county officials (although I've got some of those that I would like to give them). It would be "absolutely disgusting" to try and pull off an event like this at RES in August. They County actually believes they're objectives are more important to RSL than the sport itself.

Considering the County axed the money for the stadium today, RSL has totally lost this battle, but the war continues.

Ya, if some folks though the trip to Sandy was rough, just wait til you're going down to Orem when they build the stadium on the site of the Geneva steel works next to Utah Lake. 😁

How about that site where Rocky said that they weren't allowed to build the Grand Mall?

I don't think that the cows that live there now would have much of a NIMBY attitude.
