Racing Santander vs. Real Madrid [R] 5/4/06

RM has the opportunity to leap frog Valencia into second place today. As we all know, if they end the season in second place, they have a "binding term sheet" to come play RSL in August.

After today, there are two more games to play to close out the season.

Valencia still have to play Atletico Madrid (10th place) and Osasuna (4th place).

RM still have to play Villareal (8th place) and Sevilla (6th place).

So, if RM wins, and then they both win their next two games, RM will still be 2nd, right?

A win today puts them 1 point ahead, with 2 matches left for each team. So yes, they would be in 2nd.

This is the first time in at least five years that I have wanted Real Madrid to win a game.

And it's actually quite funny to me all these people who couldn't care less about how they do otherwise following them so closely haha

Maybe they stumbled on to a new way to market La Liga in the US - Make their appearance in your home town contingent on the outcome of their games.

*thinks to self*
Probably shouldn't be trying Engineering homework while posting on boards and watching ESPN Soccernet's gamecast.
