I'm getting tired of people using Larry Miller as the "I never use public money for my projects" guy. I sent Brad Rock an email asking him to stop insinuating that Miller paid for the entire Delta Center himself (and asking him to see the necessary parallels between the Delta Center and Real City). Anyone else want to join me?

Yes LHM got money for the land at the Delta Center and he got a HUGE tax break for Jordan Commons... so much so that I would be willing to bet (I don't know for sure) but I would bet he is stilll not paying any tax on that!
He is not getting money for land or building costs for his raceway but he is getting tax breaks...
Franklin Covey field was not his doiing but he bought it and is now reeping those benefits as well.

Here's an interesting read on this.

Larry Miller certainly was not asked to publicly release such information when he received more than $40 million in today's dollars of public funding for land, parking and infrastructure at the Delta Center. Likewise, the Newspaper Agency Corp., the parent company of the Deseret News and the Salt Lake Tribune, would never have submitted to a public release of its earnings, profits, and business modeling because it received $10 million from West Valley City to move its printing operations. We don't expect Mr. Miller, the NAC, or any other owner would willingly provide information that would put his/her business at a competitive disadvantage.

This just makes me sick. Anti-soccer bias + political grandstanding = RSL getting screwed. What a bunch of opportunistic, hypocritical bastards.
