Agreed. It's hard to say we don't suck when we loose on our home turf to the worst team in the East.
But, let's look at history and what we have to do to have this season not go down in the history books as the worst. 1st - Relegation Boot The award given to the worst team of the season. Who have been the recipients of this dubious award? 2005 - CD Chivas USA 2004 - Chicago Fire 2003 - Dallas Burn 2002 - DC United 2001 - Tampa Bay Mutiny 2000 - DC United 1999 - MetroStars 1998 - New England Revolution 1997 - San Jose Clash 1996 - Colorado Rapids Interesting that DC United has won this award twice but they also have the most championships. But at any rate, I don't want our name to appear on this list. 2nd - Last Year's Record 5 wins, 22 losses, 5 ties for a total of 20 points. If we could some how turn this season around and end it with a better record than last year I would consider this season a success. Finally - Not be the Worst Team Ever Who has been the worst team in MLS history? It's a toss up between the 2005 CD Chivas USA or the 2001 MetroStars. The MetroStars ended with fewer points but they also played 5 less games. Chivas ended last year with 18 points and a record of 4 - 22 - 6. The 2001 MetroStars ended that year with 14 points and a record of 4 - 21 - 2. We need to get at least 19 points to not go down as the worst MLS team ever. | |||||
