Anyone else going to the World Cup?
Just wondering if anyone else is going to the WC. I will be there for the week or so between the USA vs Czech game and the USA vs Italy game. If you are going let me know!

I talked to one of my clients at a user conference we had this week, and he and his wife have tickets to a semi-final game. They know someone who knows someone at FIFA and got them tickets for $500 each. I was so jealous I just about pee'ed my pants.

My wife is wearing my World Cup tickets on her hand... the WC fund quickly became the ring fund when I decided to get married. But, we have started saving to go in 2010.

If you're going to the WC, don't forget the World Cup parties in German host cities.

One of the Security staff at the game told several of us she was going to the World Cup and had tickets to 13 games and relatives to stay with. Where are my relatives? Too many generations of Americans!

If someone is still interested in going I may (50% chance) have tickets I am unable to use to all the first round US matches and potential 2nd round match (1 ticket each game). I have a few other first round match tickets too from other groups (Mexico/Iran, Holland/Ivory Coast, England/T&T) and every match played at Gelsenkirchen including quarter-final three. I will know Monday at noon Utah time whether I will be able to use these or not. If I can not I would like to have the tickets disposed of by Monday night. Travel between the matches in the form of space in a carpool may be possible, but be prepared for a, uh, energetic group of fans.

The word I am getting is that they will not be IDing people, but they are reserving the right to. If I can't use these my preference is that they go to a true soccer fan at face value, plus shipping.
