The only German I used was "dunkel" to make sure to get the dark beer. That's all that mattered. 🙂

A German would understand most of the translations.
However, do not say "ein anderes Bier" if you want another beer. Better order "noch ein Bier" - otherwise the barkeeper simply could exchange the beer in front of you. A pub is a "Kneipe" or "Gaststaette" or "Restaurant" and the referee is der "Schiedsrichter."
And, seriously, Leverkusen play at a higher level than the LA Galaxy. 🙄
