Ramirez said. "But ultimately, we want to show this country and this league what Mexican soccer is all about."

Oh, I think we know all about Mexican soccer, Ramon. Can you say "2-0 in Jeonju?"

Talk is cheap--results don't lie.

I think the HDC renters will find that the biggest difference between soccer north and south of the border is that up here we play DEFENSE. Tough, nasty, knock-you-over defense. Just ask Luis Hernandez.

I hate the whole concept of Chivas USA, but at the same time I love to have something to hate.

Its a toss up between hating Chivas USA and DC United, because they both seem so smug.
I want to hate the Rapids more, but they have been a joke for so long, that will have to develop. If we don't win the RealRapidsCup (real name coming soon!); then I will be hating Rapids more for sure.

It's harder for me to hate DC United since that's who I used to cheer for, but I know what you mean. I'm looking forward to RSL laying the smack down on Chivas and DC alike.

As far as the Rapids, you make a good point. We need to play each other a few times, because right now there's no reason not to like each other.

After the introductions, players zipped down their jackets and revealed shirts that read, "Adios Soccer." "We're saying goodbye to the U.S. version of soccer and welcoming Mexican soccer," said forward Arturo Torres, who played with the Galaxy last season. "The next shirts are going to read, 'Hello Futbol.' "
This proves what I've been saying all along. These are arrogant, snobs! They are also, racist bigots!

They really believe that just being from south of the border automatically makes them better players. They believe that the level of play in MLS is inferior to that of their league.

I've watched a lot of games from their league and personally I have not been impressed. I actually don't think they will play well in our league, at least until after their eyes have been opened (and maybe blacked, so to speak).

I seriously doubt they're racist bigots. Undoubtedly, they are simply conscious that the futbol tradition in their country has a much longer and richer history than ours...

😉

There, I differ with you. Everytime they make any announcement, it is obvious that they actually think that, because they are from Mexico, there is some inherant quality that they have that we cannot posses. And that, is in essence, what racism is all about. So I stand by that statement, :p though it is perhaps slightly overstated, for emphasis.😉

Could it simply be the pride of a longer and richer futbol tradition? If so, I'll give 'em that.

But, like Rover, I'll quickly remind them of Jeonju and many other recent matches between EE/UU and Mexico.
