Manchester United and Glazer

Good article about Malcolm Glazer's attempts to purchase Manchester United, and the reaction of ManU fans.

I don't get it. Sure I am mad that Glazer puts this much money up for ManU but lets the Mutiny die, but at least he will make money off ManU.
I don't understand why the ManU fans hate Glazer so much. The man who owns most of the team now is a Irish man. Just seems that the ManU fans are prejudiced towards the fact that Glazer is American, not because he is a non-soccer/futbol fan.

Can't have some Yank owning ManU!! hehe. Well, if I had the money to be able to buy Manchester United, I'd do it. But maybe Glazer should take some of that cash and try to get himself an MLS expansion team.

That's not it at all. If Glazer gets a hold of the team, ticket prices will rise in order to pay back the debt that he incurs in buying the team. Although there might be some prejudice involved, there are many other practical factors for which the fans are opposed to this buyout.

What proof do ManU fans have that Glazer is going to raise the ticket prices? The men that own the majority stakes in ManU now don't have debt? Anyone care to provide a link?
Sorry, just stinks of anti-USA prejudice to me.
Good thing Chelsea doesn't feel this way. Otherwise they would be perpetual losers.
Interesting the same fan base that doesn't want Glazer also calls Chelsea, Chelski...

Gotta admire the ManU supporters for holding their ground, but there's a level of paranoia there that comes from somewhere besides wanting to keep ticket prices down. I don't know if it's anti-Americanism, general xenophobia, or just the thrill of defeating another multibillionaire (didn't they hold off Rupert Murdoch a few years ago?). Whatever. It's entertaining, especially for those of us who are not--REALLY NOT--ManU fans.
