We may not win many soccer games, but we will come in first at the Nurburgring.

I think getting Stewart is a good pick up. I was impressed by his rugged play and ability to get into the attack last year during the playoffs (I was especially happy during the rout of DC).

I like the idea of getting another young defender. In theory, we are set in the backline for a long time as Stewart, Besagno, Novak and Forko are all very young and are already solid MLS defenders.

I don't like the deal because we are awfully thin up top right now. We have Watson, Kries and Cunningham. Against Colorado last week, we needed some more offensive punch, so we brought in Watson. It wasn't enough. And we didn't have anyone else we could bring in because Attiba is hurt. So we turned to Chris Brown to lead the attack??!!

I know we made the tough call to solidify the back line, and in the long term it was probably a good move. But unless Attiba gets healthy quickly - which is something that is tough to do from a hammy - we only have one striker for a sub.

the way i saw it there wasn't much choice but to get another defender. At the time we got Stewart our backline was down to almost a minimum. We only had Forko, Novak Besagno, and brown. Torres Pope Akwari Broome and knowles were all out. Meaning we'd either have to play back 3, with 3 relatively new players, bring talley back to D (which i don't want to see happen) or play brown. I don't think Ellinger wants to bring Talley back which meant one more injury and we'd be down to 3 fit defenders...
