August 5th Ticket?

So, my old man just called from the stadium asking why there's no game tonight. Apparently, his ticket said: "August 5 RSL v DC United." Now, YOU know and I know that DC United and RSL already played here this year. However, the casual fan who doesn't have any reason to know any better didn't know that this was the case. He told me that there are several people up there and their tickets all say August 5.

Anyone else hear of anyone that had this problem?

That must have been the original date -- back when the All-Star game was originally scheduled for 7/29.

yup, 8/5 was the original date. I wondered how many people would show up last night looking for Freddy Adu. The FO really only made the problem known to anyone who went to the 2-3 games prior to the DC match and even then only if they were listening to the announcer.

On another note, does anyone else think it lame that MLS reschedules games like this? I know they had a scheduling conflict with Chelsea for the all star game, but come on! Didn't we have a match rescheduled last year also? When was the last time you heard of an NBA game being rescheduled (natural disasters excluded.)

Interesting. Well, there were a lot of upset people at Rice Eccles. At the VERY LEAST RSL should have sent up a couple ticket reps and let the people know if the situation and handed out tickets to another match. Just hoping that everyone heard the announcement 2 or 3 games ago isn't enough.

Not that unusual for college football to be rescheduled, usually to accomodate TV broadcasts. I've seen several Utah and BYU home games change dates for the reason in the last few years.

Agree it would have been a nice gesture for the FO to be up there and at trade tix for an upcoming matches for the outdated tix for DCU.
