Good catch. I didn't think he did great but he didn't do bad, especially considering the mess in the FO at Metrostars / Red Bull.

I wonder when it will be official. Mo's agent has been telling the media the same thing for a week.

Am I the only one who doesn't understand the coaching merry-go-round in the MLS? Are there no up and coming coaches that MLS teams dare to take a chance on...NCAA coaches, assistant coaches, etc? I guess maybe Johnston didn't get his fair time at NY, but I just can't understand why you wouldn't want to take a chance at finding the next Bruce Arena.

Because you run the risk of finding the next John Ellinger. 🙂

I agree, there are some assistants that deserve a shot.

Normally I agree with this idea completely, get some new blood in there.

However, the story of TFC hiring Mo is different this time. Taking the whole story in context, it looks like TFC was trying to steal Mo away from RB before RB ever fired him. It even looks like Mo was fired more so for interviewing with TFC than for the horrible results in the pitch.

I can't imagine that TFC hired Mo because they felt sorry for getting him fired, but TFC really had an interest in Mo before he was ever fired.

After this season, if at least one of these :Revs's Mariner, DC's Soehn, Maryland's Cirovski and ManU's Onalfo; don't have head jobs some where, something is seriously wrong out there.

There is a saying in coaching that You realy haven't coached until you've been fired.

The reason that coaches get second chances is because of how much you learn in your first gig at any level. Usually the unproven coaches get lousy teams, so when they predictably fail, they get canned. Then the next team that hires them gets the benefit of the previous learning experience.

Two of the hottest football coaches right now failed at previous stops, but Pete Carroll and Bill Bellichek(sp?) are now hailed as geniuses.

People also forget how long it took for John Wooden to build his UCLA dynasty, they only remember the decade of dominance.
