Three RSL players in the runnings: JC, Medhi and Klein! Oh yeah, and no Ante Razov for MVP. Ha! __________________ Real Salt Lake! Last edited by Aerick : 10-18-2006 at 01:16 PM.

I was a bit suprised to not see Ante in the running. But he really fell off as the season wore on. The thing Cunningham has going for him is that opposing defenses can afford to concentrate on him. And despite that he still had a career best season.

Sorry Medhi. Looks like Bornstein edged you out.

I have to agree with the decision. Bornstein is a game changer. But, I'm very happy to have Balouchey on my RSLs!

Without Cunningham, yes, we would be worse, but, we would still be in last place. __________________

Agree to disagree.
Cunningham would have had to break records to get us into the play-offs. Are you saying that if he would have been on a playoff team and had the exact same results that he would have been the MVP? I'm not sure that's a fair assessment of how an MVP should be awarded. Just because his team didn't achieve a high level of success doesn't mean his efforts were any less hurculean, much less "valuable". Anyway, perhaps I'm just biased. __________________

The more I think about this, the more I agree. Now I've laid out before why I didn't think JC would get it. I think the nature of the award has favored someone who's a playmaker and at that on a team that's done relatively well during the season. But the more I think about it, the more I disagree to that approach to doling about the MVP. I'd really like to see things move away from that and focus more on what the player does for their team rather than how well their team does and how much the player was a part of that. Does that difference in approach make sense? __________________
