Shouldn't we just all migrate back to BigSoccer?

Guys, let's face it, we've kind of ground to a halt here.

It was a great idea to have our own message board but I think after RSL's first season the newness has worn off and the postings have really died off now.

Meanwhile, BigSoccer remains fairly vibrant.

Should we just shut things down here and redirect people over to BigSoccer and make that our home?

Thanks to everyone that has worked so hard over the past couple of years.

I rarely, if ever, visit BS. I heard nothing but bad things from other posters here about it, so that's why I've avoided it. I still check this board and post here at least once a day.

Seems to me that between 5 and 15 posts per day is a very nice amount of information exchange amongst folks. I learn things, engage in discourse, and otherwise do the things that boards do the way it is. When I go to big boards that have only one segment dedicated to my interest, I find interlopers too common and too willing to disrupt.

One of the greatest things about this site is we don't have to worry about such annoyances.

I look at both and find things i enjoy on both. I don't think it's an eithor/or situation.

BigSoccer is a much larger board than this one, but to me, it is a little too big. There is a new post (within the MLS section) within every 5 second period, which results in a lot to read. I find that here, we only get the stuff we need and nothing more, that's why I have 400 or so posts here and less than ten there.

So my vote is too keep this board running.

Although I think we should keep up with both forums, I agree with Cup, as I was also thinking the same thing this weekend.

Theres room for both still I believe.

the cup, we are also in the offseason already. Things will be slow here for a long while yet. Not a reason to shut down the board, however. I think many of us here like the generally higher level of civility and on-topic discussion compared to BigSoccer. I mean, nessie might call something to my attention here, but at least she won't flame me 😁 BigSoccer is definitely a fun place to discuss and what not, but I don't think the two forums are mutually exclusive. I know that I go to each forum looking for different things. I believe that both this forum and BigSoccer's RSL forum can coexist peacefully.

Just don't ask the Provostani Caliphate what they think 😉 Coexistence isn't exactly a Provostani priority...

Each board has its own personality. Each board has its own ebb and flow. BS used to live up to its name pretty well, but has become much more vibrant and intelligent than it was in the early RSL days. Within a month, however, it may just be a bunch of BS again. 🙂

AMEN! If I am really desperate or bored (or if this board has been too quiet for a few days), I might check out BigSoccer. Usually, it just overwhelms me, though.
