USA vs Mexico [R]

Great second half. USA survived several great chances by Mexico, but great defensive play kept Mexico out of the net.

Anyone recognize this guy in the pictures???

So is there any doubt remaining that the Mexican soccer team is the dirtiest (figurativley and literally) thing going in world soccer?
Piss poor players.
Piss poor fans.

I can understand being upset with the unsportsmanlike behavior of the Mexican players and fans. I didn't like seeing cups and bottles thrown on the field or hearing about how the Mexican players left the field without shaking hands or exchanging jerseys. However, I am assuming you don't know anything about their hygiene. Therefore, I take offense at the "literally" comment because it seems to be making reference to a common racist stereotype of Mexican people. It really seems out of bounds and inappropriate.

Oh for hell's sake. Fine. I'll change it to figuratively and a different kind of figuratively. The point is that it seems to be some sort of a requirement that Mexican national team players have to be gigantic pricks that are willing to flop all over the pitch, complain nonstop, try and injure opposing players, and generally act like petulant 2 year olds at all times. As for their hygeine, I don't care how many showers they might take. They're dirty as hell as a soccer team. The whining and crying - dirty. The dangerous cheap shots - dirty. The beer and food projectiles - dirty. The drama queen exit when the final whistle blows - dirty. Go ahead and be offended.

No offense taken with anything in that post. I agree with what you are saying. I have no problem with the figurative part of what you were saying and in fact agree that it poor fan and player behavior. Now if we could only get our own (RSL) fans to stop throwing things on the field...

Amen (that is all, but amen is too short to be a post by itself)
