4 goals?

Usually, it takes Bunker Bob's Circus Freaks a decade to score 4 goals.

Yeah, shocking that.

But the good news is that they've wasted their annual quota of goals against RSL in a preseason game. We're now guaranteed no worse than 0-0 in our games with KC! 😉

Thanks for the pictures Deuce / Mango Jam! Unfortunately RSL's preseason has turned around... They started out slow, then got hot and won a bunch, and now they are back to losing again. Oh well, preseason means nothing in my book - bring on the Metros! Only one week folks!

Hey!! You are welcome, it was a fun game but COLD!! I wish I could have gotten better close-ups.

The first half was pretty evenly matched but they definitely got the better of us by the end. I was really surprised to see that DJ would be in with a broken thumb, don't they have a back up?

Everybody was gracious and signed lots of autographs but they were obviously bummed about the game and weren't really in much of a mood to stick around. They looked great in all white, IMHO.

Not broken

DJ's thumb is not broken, it is just a little strained and he wears the half cast when not playing to remind himself not to strain it more and to protect it.

I wonder, I noticed that Kamler came out at the 61 minute and Leighton O'Brien replaced him. Score 1-0, RSL.
9 minutes later, KC began their onslaught.

Coincidence or bad play by our sub defensive midfielder?

So sounds like DJ made some great saves, but also let in 4 goals. Where was the breakdown? Poor defense, or did DJ make any glaring errors?

The invisible Andy Williams is starting to concern me; as is a seemingly very inconsistent Mathis.

Kreamy delivers again. What a great pick by RSL. I've got high hopes for him.

I keep trying to tell myself that it's pre-season, and that the guys are probably getting very bored with meaningless games. I'll try not to pass too much judgment until after next week, I guess.

Perspective of a KC fan on RSL:

I'm officially worried about our goalkeeper position...

"I'm either the hero or the zero," said Countess, Real Salt Lake's No. 1 goalkeeper as the team begins its inaugural season next week. "There's really no other way to look at it."

Hmmm, why doesn't this comfort me?
