USMNT vs. Chivas [R]

USMNT humble Seedy Cheetos 7-0 in Carson, CA.

Ouch. Clint Mathis got a goal to open the match, and was followed by several other players (obviously!) including Pat Noonan and Taylor Twellman with two each. Arena's lineup was all MLS, of course.

Mathis scores first in opening minutes as MLS-only US Nats route CD Chivas USA 7-0 at the HDC. Rongen full of excuses and dismisses loss.

lol...that's just too funny.

I'm impressed with US finishing lately. Even if their competition hasn't been the best.

Looks like I just made the same post down in the US National Team threads.

The only reason I'd take anything away from this result is that up until now seedy cheetos have not played professionals, to my knowledge. This time they played our national team, but one made up exclusively of MLS players.

Can't help but wonder if the MLS guys wanted everyone to know that they've heard all the smack coming out of sc about "goodbye soccer/hello futbol."

Say hello to soccer, newbies.

No problem. Looks like mine's been vaporized anyway.

It's all good. Nice to see the Clint leading the way for the Nats. 🙂

My thoughts exactly Prime! Where's that Goat (over)confidence now? Keep in mind this was an all-MLS national team: No Donovan, Beasley, Lewis, etc..

If you really hate Chivas Lite, then there was some bad news from this game.

Their utterly useless goalkeeper Pulpo Zuniga was injured. Their draftee from South Carolina will be much better.

Remember; Mexico's best goalkeeper in the last decade could not beat out Kevin Hartman & Zack Thorton for a starting job. And Zuniga isn't anywhere near as good as Campos ever was.

👍

Good! I hope Rongen keeps dismissing results and making excuses. I hope he remains convinced of his original premise (that any Mexican team can whip any American team, simply because they are Mexican).

I just hope he doesn't realize his mistake until the season starts. Then we can all have a good laugh at the Cheetos, whenever their in town for their regulation trouncing.

If they don't change their attitude, I expect to see a lot of similar results. I really love it!
