I almost missed this in the news from yesterday :

"FUTURE FIREWORKS: It looks like RSL's firework celebrations will continue next season and beyond. Salt Lake has put on a fireworks display after its two holiday games this month (July 4 against the MetroStars and Saturday against FC Dallas), and MLS officials have reportedly notified Real that it intends to give the team a pair of games around the July holidays each summer."

This is great news, and absolutely a result of the great support RSL has received.

I know it may seem like a small step, but this is how traditions are established. It doesn't hurt that both holiday games were dramatic--the incredible comeback to tie Metro 2-2 on the 4th of July and yesterday's whuppin' of FCD in honor of Pioneer Day.

The goal is for RSL to be integrated into life in Salt Lake and Utah in general. We need RSL to truly be this city's club. We're now on our way to ensuring that the two July holidays are associated with RSL. Not bad for an expansion soccer team.

From now on I will refer to Rover as the Prophet Rover the First.
Nice job, especially from a guy from So Cal.
