Champions League upcoming fixtures [R]

Tuesday, March 8:

AC Milan vs. Man U (San Siro)
Chelsea vs. Barcelona (Stamford Bridge)
Lyon vs. Werder Bremen (Municipal de Gerland)

After the last leg, they stand thusly:

AC Milan 1 - 0 Man U
Chelsea 1 - 2 Barca
Lyon 3 - 0 Werder Bremen

Lyon looks to be in pretty good shape (congrats Bordy 🙂 ) and I think Milan will take care of business at San Siro. Chelsea-Barcelona is still completely up in the air, in my opinion.

THEN

Wednesday, March 9:

Arsenal vs. Bayern Munich (Highbury)
Bayer Leverkusen vs. Liverpool (BayArena)
Juventus vs. Real Madrid (delle Alpi)
Monaco vs. PSV Eindhoven (Stade Louis II)

and they stand thusly:

Arsenal 1 - 3 Bayern Munich
B. Lev. 1 - 3 Liverpool
Juventus 0 - 1 Real Madrid
Monaco 0 - 1 PSV Eindhoven

It's not impossible for Arsenal to get the result. Leverkusen too, but I don't think they're as good a team (need to play Landon! 😉 ). Juve has a good chance against Madrid, but if Madrid plays their A game it will not be easy. I predict Eindhoven (w/Bease) will win this leg as well, Monaco is not the team they once were.

Thoughts?

Ponte will be out with yellow card suspension for this game. Seeing that he and Landon always replace each other when subbed, I would think this means Landon will get the start.

go LD!

Why, thank you.

I'm also anxious to see Landon play a full game. Should be awesome.

My predictions:

Milan, Barcelona, Lyon
Arsenal, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Monaco

Game to watch will be Chelsea-Barcelona for sure. I'm going 7-for-7 on those predictions. You heard it here first.

Concur, but you got there first!

Except I'm picking Juve to handle Real Madrid.

FOOLS!

If you're not taking Chelsea to handle a 1-0 win at home then you must not be paying attention.

Otherwise...Milan, Real, Leverkusen (Liverpool wont be able to hold it), Bayern, Lyon, PSV, Inter.

Is anyone watching any webcasts or anything? Apparently this Chelski-Barca game is insane...

You're right -- crazy game.

Also, fear Lyon. The only question is WHO they'll be beating in the championship game.

Yeah, I'm watching.

I was REALLY not enjoying it for awhile. I don't think I'd ever seen that happen to a Barca team.

My blood pressure's back down now, but it looks like the second half will be just as stressful.

These guys are good.

Gotta love this game!
