Oh well.

But who cares. Soccer is the great forum, a place where all people, regardless of their politics, can assemble to cheer together for a common cause.

Well, it would be, if we could get a stadium built. 😠

I don't care about anyone's politics on this board, we are all RSL fans and that transcends it all.

On the other hand, I am filled with anger over this Bramble character. I know somebody said he's a good guy or whatever, but this sucks. I really HATE Curt Bramble right now.

Senator Bramble: I hate you. Go wear an American Flag shirt in Mosul.

I am curious to see how quickly the government will do an about face when the "Larry-Man" brings a proposal for a MLB Stadium! I wonder how quick these jerks will give the Larry-Man his stadium especially since they nearly wet themselves with anticipation when the Delta Center was proposed.

IMHO I would not be surprised at all if the Larry-Man made a few quiet suggestions in the right peoples' ears and sat back and smiled as his chronies in the State Legislature eliminated any competition for his Stingers in the summer season.

Similar to his lobbying for the prohibition of auto sales on Sunday in Salt Lake County because his competition were making money on a day he chose to keep his dealerships closed.

I am truly embarrassed to be associated with Utah today!

It's too bad he got involved with the wrong sport. I don't know what he was thinking, but we could have definitely used his influence if he was involved with RSL instead of having it go against us. Why did he have to pick this year to buy a baseball team?

Are you serious? I hadn't heard about this before. Did he succeed in getting auto sales shut down on Sunday?

Me too. Unfortunately, it isn't the first time and most certainly will not be the last time either.

On a COMPLETELY UNRELATED note, just 3 RANDOM comments that I wanted to make on the board today:

1) I have a whole stack of RSL stickers. Pretty cool.

2) Interesting that someone posted Bramble's address. ReALly interesting.

3) I've got some free time tomorrow morning. Bored to death. Need to find something to do.

On 1280 AM one day, the announcers speculated that Miller would bring a major league baseball team here. Either an expansion team, or the Twins because Minnesotans are too smart to vote in favor of Corporate Welfare.

Yeah, not having tax money for RSL's ground is not good, but we may have saved ourselves from having to pay for an much more expensive stadium for a baseball team; like Dysko mentioned before.

Supposedly, a big out-of-state auto dealer (Tuttle-Click from California?) was going to open up a bunch of dealerships in Utah. Then, Miller and other Utah dealers had the Sunday closing legislation passed. The out-of-state dealer decided that they could not make money here if they had to close one day a week, so they stayed away.

The MLB Florida Marlins are finally going to get a stadium. Look how much they are getting in state money! This is sick money compared to the paltry amount RSL wanted.

Quote:
The new stadium has the backing of Gov. Jeb Bush, who just last week applauded the Marlins for securing local and county support for the ballpark plan, saying it would likely help the team's quest of obtaining state money for the $420 million project in Little Havana.

City and county officials have pledged $166 million for the proposed retractable-roof facility, with the Marlins agreeing to put up $192 million more. A $32 million parking garage is expected to pay for itself through usage fees.

That leaves a $30 million gap, which officials hope to cover with the proposed sales tax rebate.

Wow! 😲 Maybe we can import a few politicians from Florida.

One really good thing for me, even though I'm not a baseball fan, in this whole deal is that the Dolphins will no longer have to play on that dirt outfield for a quarter of the season. Go Dolphins!
