Well that is a bit of a shock! He has been on the bench alot during qualifiers tho...

He has been gaining alot of momentum lately.
He scored in the Columbia match and nearly had a goal, but settled for an assist, in the Honduras game!

I certainly hope this is not going to effect his play at RSL because it has to be a huge disappointment to get cut from national duties.

Being the selfish bar-steward that I am, I'm fine with both Eddie and Cleatus not playing with the USMNT right now, only because I don't want them to get hacked in the bloodbath at the Azteca...

Viva La Cleatus!

Wow, that is good and bad news. I thought he was playing rather well for the team. I wonder what the full story is.

At least we'll have all of his attention now.

Let's hope he uses this as motivation to play his butt off for RSL. 10 goals in the first 3 matches should be enough for Bruce to consider calling him back up for the next one.

From what people have said about our beloved Cletus, he seems somewhat... errr... moody?

I hope that's not true, but if it is... this could create some strange emotions and who knows how they would play out. I'm personally just sad for him because this would seem like a big kick in the ego. Errr... you know what I mean. Maybe?

He's off the roster for the Mexico game, but is he also off the roster for Guatemala?

Maybe The Bruce is going to bunker down in the Azteca, then Unleash Cletus in Birmingham?

That would be cool!
Maybe we should not read too much into this. Maybe we should not be looking at this as Clint being sacked/fired. Maybe it is just a strategic move on the part of the Bruce!

Maybe I should say maybe one more time! 😲

That's a great thought and very possible. I guess being left off the roster for one game doesn't mean he is going to be left off the roster for the other games too.

Moody players are nothing new to Utah (see Karl Malone). The upside is, he might react like Karl did when he didn't make the 1998 All-Star game in the late nineties and scored something like 40 points the next game.

Emotion is not always a bad thing.
