Chastain knows soccer, and can talk with the best of them. She could be a very good broadcaster. If you like Wynalda on the air, you should like Chastain.

I couldn't stand Wynalda as a player and I thought he was marginal as an annoucer . . . at first. I'm to the point now where I respect the fact that he calls it as he sees it, and isn't afraid to call out a player, coach, or official for their actions.

Back to the thread about American announcers/commentators on soccer . . . the bar is low.

I read that in the Trib this morning and was so excited!

Does anyone know if Lorrie Fair's going to be doing features/sidelines this year?

No, fair is out (too bad I liked her).
Seems that current USWNT defender Heather Mitts (will do at least 5 games) and Brandi Chastain are the new side line reporters.

Heather Mitts seems to do a good job with the articles she writes. Not to mention, she is very easy on the eyes. :D

Well I can see where you get the idea she is easy on the eyes...
But can she string two sentences together?

I could get used to looking at her every saturday!

She has articles all of the time on ESPN's soccer page. They seem to be fairly good. I think that she'll do fine for the few seconds she will be on camera. I'm not sure how well she would do in the booth for an entire game, but as a sideline reporter, she'll do an excellent job.

And did I mention that she was hot? :D
