Just in case anyone cares, I have a meeting today so won't be at practice. If someone goes, wish them luck for me.

Practice will be at UVSC Thursday and Friday. The team has changed travel plans and won't leave for LA until Friday. If I am not mistaken it is scheduled for 10 am.

Good news for everyone who lives in "The Bubble"... er... I mean Utah County.

Just got back from practice. I was there from about 11:15 to 12:00. Saw montgjules, scilaci, arelius, AND areliusII.

Team was apparently running drills until I got there, then they had a scrimmage for about 30-35 minutes, starters against reserves. The twist on the scrimmage this time is that they played with 2 balls. So sometimes there would be one ball on one side of the field, one on the other. Sometimes two balls in attack. Finished off with (I think) Dipsy and Clint scoring at the same time on Nolly.

Finishing in general to me still looked a little off. Shots were generally either wide or directly at the keeper. DJ mishandled one right into the net, so we don't have to worry about that happening Saturday since he got that out of the way. He did have some nice saves, as well.

Counted 62 fans there on my way out.

I'm sure the others that were there will fill in what I missed.

Practice was great fun to watch. There won't be a practice tommorow. I talked to the media relations guy that was there and he said the next open practice would be next week some time (after our victory over the Galaxy :p ) Anyhow, at the end of practice the players were very nice and signed a bunch of autographs and got their pictures taken.

I enjoyed the two ball match. Especially when the starter defenders kept yelling "DJ DJ!" because there was another ball coming toward the goal. I think the reserves managed to sneak in one or two while DJ was distracted. 🙄 The double goal by Dipsy and Mathis was fun as well.

Anyhow, it was great to see the players up close and personal. Good to see Bordy7, Aurelius, and Montgules there.

Is UVSC where RSL will practice in the future?
Seems kind of far.

I just got back from practice today. I was there with Montgjules, Scilaci and Bordy.

Was able to press flesh with almost all the players. Photos to be posted within the hour.

Impressions:

Brown is bigger than I thought.
Pierce is smaller than I thought.
Kreis if very cordial.
Pope is very polite.
Mathis just wanted to get out of there.
Akwari is very nice.
Behncke is a big boy.
My impression is that Countess is Ellinger’s favorite, that he has a special affinity for him.
Watson is a chatterbox. He chatted with me for about 10-15 minutes. Excited about Utah, kind of like a sponge, soaking everything up. Very nice.
Marlon Rojas is very nice. He has a cool Caribbean accent.

I got to talk with Andy Williams for a bit, because he was sidelined with a knee problem. A clueless girl was sitting next to him asking him if he played for Real. I inserted myself into the conversation explaining to her that he plays for the Jamaican national team, trying to increase his stature in her eyes. She asked what position he played, I answered, Midfield and that he is the assist king. He corrected me by saying, “Goal king.”

The team had a scrimmage; starter vs. reserves with two balls on the field. Mathis’ talent really shows through.

The team won’t be at UVSC tomorrow; they’re taking off to LA. I got everyone’s signature on a white Real T-shirt.

P.S. We were able to spread the Loyalist “word” and recruited a bunch that were there. Some of the fans there have written a song that they want to put to the tune, “You’ll never walk alone.”

P.P.S. I asked Jamie if he was going to play on Sunday (with the reserves) and he kind of indignantly said, “I hope I get in on Saturday…”

I heard that they were going to be practicing down there in UC at the hockey game last night. I immediately thought of all you guys down there and was glad that you guys would have a chance to see them practice. Good job in reporting and recruiting.
