Mexico - Panama [R]

I'll put this thread in the USA forum because it relates to our chances to qualify.

MEXICO 1 - 1 PANAMA 😲

I guess Mexi used up all their strength against us? Anyway good job Panama.

Wow! That's not good for Mexico. Sounds like they had a major letdown after the emotion of the game Sunday. Too bad for them. Well, not really. 🙂

This is kind of random but what does the [R] in the thread title stand for?

I know some will think I'm crazy, but this is actually not a good result for us. We need the bottom three (Guatemala, Panama, T&T) to drop lots of points. We don't care about the other favorites (Mexico, Costa Rica) unless we're playing them. We want the weaker teams eliminated, so we're one of the top three after ten games. Don't care if we're 1,2, or 3--they'll all be headed to Deutschland.

That said, I admit it's fun to see Mexico lay an egg.

It means that results will be included so don't look inside if you haven't watched the game yet and don't want to know who won. Threads with the [R] are also the only threads where results should be discussed so that someone doesn't accidentally find out about the results in a thread not marked with the [R].

Pardo got kicked out for Mexico.

Yes, I know that I am a Tri Apologist, but the red card seemed a bit harsh.

This is not your father's Panama. They have some players in South America and Europe. I think that former Colorado Rapid Dely Valdes is still playing for them.

Mexico was not able to string passes together like they were against us.

I believe the US were lucky to pull out a tie in Panama during the earlier round and I heard that it was a questionable goal in the waning minutes of the game. Panama is no fluke, epecially at home.

Didn't we smoke the crap out of them in RFK last October?
Didn't Old Man Cobi tie them in Panama?
Please.

The game in Panama, if I remember correctly, was scary. It was like last Sunday, but with worse weather and no altitude... I remember feeling very, very lucky that we got the equalizer.
