Did you hear Coach E on the Manly Morning show this morning? They read a "doomsdayer" email from a season ticket holder that was pretty scathing. I'm betting it was from our very own doomsdayer, Old Ska. :D

Love ya Old Ska! 😉

It wasn't that scathing. They were the typical questions you would expect about a team that hasn't scored in 4 games.

Checketts will be on in about an hour.

Not unless he has flown in just for reserve games.

I respectfully beg to differ. Even Coach E called the fan a "doomsdayer" after PK asked what he thought about that type of fan. I remember the email essentially calling for Williams to be benched - which I still think (especially based on his play in the last two games) is a bit harsh.

Good point. Must not be Old Ska, then. Do we have any other doomsdayers on this forum?

Yeah, they weren't as bad as I thought given the lead-in that the e-mail was given. I don't remember the exact words, but something like Coach E are you ready to be called the worst coach in the world...

I agree that the calls for Williams to be benched are harsh and premature. He isn't the most active player of the field, but he has the ability to change the game with a single pass. I mean in some sense Mathis disappears for as long as Williams in games. Why are fans not calling for Mathis to be benched as well? Just b/c he is more flamboyant and beloved? I guess it makes sense, but isn't logical.

That's right! "Are you ready to be called the worst coach in the world" or something like that. Ouch!!

He does? 😕 Only if a back-pass suddenly qualifies. The problem is that he and Mathis are basically the same player with the same shortcomings...we can't have both on the field at the same time. Mathis has made some nice passes this year and has created some goals...Williams has not created anything (other than taking CKs), has one goal, and has been working pretty hard the last two games...

Frankly, I'm not sure which one to pull...but one of them needs to go.
