MLS is threatening Premiership hopes of luring Real Madrid midfielder David Beckham back to England.

The News of the World says Beckham is to be offered a multi-million-pound contract to end his career in the United States by ambitious MLS authorities.

Its Australia, they celebrate April Fools late.

I bet there's some truth to it. MLS probably has at least thought about making an offer. Beckham has said that he might like to finish out his career in the US.

We still have an SI slot available, right...?

Yes, I believe we do but we don't have any allocations left. So, we're screwed unless he demands to play for RSL. IF this were to happen, I don't see him playing anywhere other than LA or NY. However, if he went to NY I STILL don't see them winning anything. 🙂

He played for Al-Jazeera during the 2001-2002 season. After that, he did all he could to help the Liberian national team qualify for the 2002 World Cup, but fell just a point short in qualifying for the 2002 tournament.

Since then, Weah has dedicated himself to his war-torn country. At the 2004 ESPY Awards, he won the Arthur Ashe Courage Award for his efforts. Weah was named by Pelé as one of the top 125 greatest living footballers in March 2004.

In mid-November 2004, Weah announced his intention to stand in the October 2005 presidential election, having previously been the subject of a petition urging him to run; he received a hero's welcome upon his arrival in Monrovia in late November and is widely considered a favorite in the election.

BTW, his wife is American. They met when she attended him at a bank as a teller in New York. They now have 3 children.

His (Weah) is the only soccer poster that remains on my wall.

I hear his son (who is in one of the Milan youth systems) is or wants to play for the US. Right?
