RES rules--whatever Here's some more humor for everyone. I'm assuming it's some kind of joke since we've been otherwise on several of these items. Which do we assume are true (and hence panic) and which are bogus? This is from the list of information that arrived with season tickets:
"PROHIBITED ITEMS ...the following items are not permitted inside RES: alcoholic beverages, balloons & beach balls, cans/bottles or other beverage containers, coolers, fireworks/smoke bombs, ice chests, illegal drugs, laser pens/pointers, noise-making devices (i.e., horns, whistles, etc.), poles to display banners or flags, umbrellas, video or movie cameras, weapons, any other items deemed to be dangerous or inappropriate...." * We always brought water bottles to RES, and it was fine if they were unopened. Change of policy? * There's some clarification for our Montana colleagues who were hoping to be able to bring smoke bombs/flares/fireworks. Sorry! * Sorry, Jim. May the horn rest in peace. * What the heck?!?! We were told we could bring poles for the flags. True or false? Sup? "TAILGATING: Tailgating is strictly prohibited in all Rice-Eccles and University of Utah lots. Fans are encouraged to join Carnival Real at Olympic Cauldron Park on the south end of the stadium beginning 90 minutes prior to kick-off for food, fun and pre-game entertainment." * Huh? Is this where we'll be tailgating?

Sorry. Between the time I started this post and finished (fed the babies in the middle) somebody posted this info elsewhere. Sheesh.

I guess we'll get a lot of this clarified tomorrow. Hopefully.
I hope they stick to the no horns though. I really don't like those. Especially if someone right behind you has one.

Yeah did you hear them last Saturday at the DC/Chivas match at HDC? I had to turn down the sound so i could watch it! I hate the constant droan of those blasted things. I would not mind if it were just after a goal or some other kind of celebration, but they are usually not... If they allow them this season... I will seriously consider not investing in another season until they do ban them! But that is waaaaay negative thinking... this is going to be a great season and I know RES will do the right thing! :D

If we can't have poles with our flags I will be very very very saddened! What a huge let-down that would be, for us and for the whole atmosphere!

👍 I am, by nature, an optimist, but I've also been around longer than some of you and I know that people DON'T tend to do the right thing. They tend to do the easy thing, the narrow-thinking thing, the restrictive thing, and the stupid thing. That is human nature.
I have thought that our FO was above that; that they were straight shooters and excited about what we've been planning. But now I'm worried. Notice that there have been no clarifications or explanations from anyone authoritative. We've been promised several things that these restrictions completely negate! No explanation, modification or clarification makes it sound real, permanent and inescapable. If there were an explanation or clarification, one would think that they would be giving it. Instead, not a peep! This does not bode well. __________________
