Chicago Fire Pres/GM Fired (no pun intended)

The article has some interesting things to say about our Steve Pastorino:

Another article that has some info about Pastorino's feelings on what happened:

Odd timing, two games into a new season. Trends must have been headed way down for the Fire. You'd think with the new stadium well underway, they'd want stability.

Wilt has been "Mr. Fire" since their inception, so this is not something those of us outside the organization expected. Sounds like a lot of people were surprised.

I guess this is yet another sign that MLS is maturing. If AEG is willing to let Wilt go (OK, fire him), it's clear the stakes are high now and the expectations even higher.

It's not our gutty little league anymore. Progress has its costs.

Just ask Sigi Schmid.
