Wow...

I was surprised to find this:
http://www.dailyutahchronicle.com/news/2005/04/18/Opinion/The-Chronicles.View.Real.Deserves.Our.Support-928311.shtml
in this morning's Chrony.

The new university president was inaugurated last Friday, and there's still all that talk about Smith and Bogut going 1-1, so it's cool that the Chrony actually wrote an editorial about RSL. 🙂

Everything from the flashy banners gracing the upper areas of the stadium to the constantly playing percussion band
Was this an official "Percussion Band" or was this our section?

There was a group with T-shirts that said "Samba Gringa" who played in my section during the 1st half and in the southwest corner in the 2nd half.

You can hear them quite a bit on the TV broadcast, so I'm assuming that's what they were talking about.

I had a chance to give them a shout on the way out of the stadium. They are a U of U Samba band that was hired by ReAL for this game. They asked me to call ReAL to let them know how much we enjoyed the atmosphere they helped create, so they can get hired for the rest of the season.

I actually really enjoyed them. In fact, i was playing a similar beat in my head and drumming it out on my belly all evening. Great stuff.

That is a great article! I thought I had read everything there was to read about that game, but I hadn't read that, and I hadn't heard that Eddie Pope commented about the feel of the game to be almost European - Sweet!
