4/19 News RSL Notes: Williams' injury healing quickly
http://www.sltrib.com/search/ci_2668647 “Saturday's game in Dallas likely will be broadcast locally on Fox Sports Rocky Mountain on a tape delay basis” “RSL officials are hoping to use Utah's women's soccer field. Officials say the field at Utah Valley State College is uneven, and they will not practice there again.” Real Salt Lake let loose their 'Laser' http://real.saltlake.mlsnet.com/MLS/news/team_news.jsp?ymd=20050418&content_id=27037&vkey=news_rsl&fext=.jsp&team=rsl

Williams will be good for the SJ game (Apr 30).
How can both Williams and Mathis play attacking mid?

|
They can play a four-man midfield with two up and two back.

They could always run the Christmas tree but that leaves Dipsy going back to an outside mid...

I heard that UVSC wasn't sloped enough to the right :p The original plan was to use the Ute women's field all along. Then in March buildings and grounds at the U had someone quit/get fired. The U decided not to replace that person at the time. So between the Athletic department and buildings and grounds they informed RSL that they couldn't host them after all. RSL offered to pay a person to take care of the field until Fall but the offer wasn't accepted in March. Maybe it has been now.

Not family-friendly: Cut snack prices or let soccer fans bring their own
http://www.sltrib.com/opinion/ci_2668516 My one beef with the match on Saturday was this policy of not bringing any food or drink into the stadium. I had bought about $25 of food (fruit, drink, snacks, etc.) to tie me over for the afternoon. They were checking bags at the entrance. They said no food allowed. I didn't want to return to my car so I just pulled the food and left it there at the entrance. A lady behind me had a bottle of water and they denied her as well. This struck me as very miserly. Next time, I'll know better.

"It was just sort of marking our spot, marking our territory," Dunseth said of the logic behind the celebration. *** Perhaps the biggest impact from Saturday's win could come in the fan attendance. One of the biggest challenges every new franchise faces is establishing a strong fan base. Judging by the large turnout Saturday, Real is well ahead of schedule. In fact, so many fans showed up it forced the team to open sections that had been partitioned off. The players noticed. "In soccer the crowd is everything," said defender Eddie Pope. Mathis agreed saying, "It [the win] couldn't have come at a time or a better place than in front of 25,000 in the home stands."
