I'm not saying that either team is bad, i just think that Real Salt Lake's reserves are probably supposed to be better than a PDL team's, you know? Kind of like when BYU played Blitzz. I wanted both to win, although BYU a little more, and I expected the whole time that Blitzz would win. Would this game be closer or farther apart?

Hopefully, further apart, but we won't really know until we go. Will we?

One advantage BYU might have is that they've played together longer. Soccer is so much about knowing your teammates. You need to know what other guys are going to do and how they'll do it. I'll bet that the BYU team has been together a lot longer than the RSL reserves. RSL should still win though.

😎

Actually, the thing about PDL is that you can get a very great difference in level of play. Some clubs seem to be about high school level, and some clubs seem to be A league level. The BYU team, I believe, is about at the D3 level. At least they gave the Blitzz some good games (though they lost).

The real question is, at what level does the ReAL Reseve team play? I guess this will tell us.

Since you’ve brought it up, several PSL western conference teams (Blitzz included) folded or moved to a different league after last year. For example, San Diego Gauchos were PSL last year, now they are PDL. They had to either go A-league (er, I mean First Division) or PDL and they chose the latter. So, like you say, the PDL now has very disparate abilities among teams…

Whereis the Jello Bowl? The traveling trophy emblematic of the Utah Championship. Shouldn't RSL vrs BYU count the same as the Blizz?

I imagine this will be a high-quality scrimmage for th RSL reserves. But for BYU this might be considered "The Game of Their Lives." Look for the Cougars to be very competitive, especially on their own pitch.

Hmmm...Go down to Provo on the same day that I take off 3 hours to watch Chelsea put the reds back in their place (that's 5th place). MIght be tough to justify to the boss, as I agree to work late on Champions League days that I take the time off. But on the other hand, work is for suckers, so I think I'll try to go.
