I noticed the line ref telling Wah-bel to fill out some paperwork after getting hit with the lighter. Anyone know what can come of that, besides looking like we have bad fans? I also missed his gesture at the end of the game, but I know it was not liked... anyone want to "describe it"?

He just sort of came over to the corner area with all the Loyalists are raised up his arms a few times. Going to be fun to razz him when he comes back in August, but let's please refrain from throwing items onto the pitch. Making lots of noise and harassing visiting players is all in good fun (and certainly deserved when visiting players are spitting on our team) but when debris is thrown at players, no matter how much they deserve it, makes our fan base look very bad.

Pat Onstad the Quakes keeper applauded the crowd at the end of the game. I thought that was pretty classy. RSL is developing a real nice home field advantage.

Are we sure this was a lighter and not sidewalk chalk? they're about the same size.

He must not have been able to hear the "Ole, ole, Onstad is gay" chant that was eminating from the stands then.

I'm not sure it came from our fan base per se. I saw it in mid-flight and was surprised that it made it out that far to strike Craigie. It came from our/my left perhaps up a few rows. Not sure if E33 or 34 was it's origin.

I'll second Rabble's thoughts: getting under their skin is one thing; throwing stuff and pitch invasions are others. Let's keep it clear. To me, Loyalist implys dignity.

I acctually watched the last 10 mins of the game on MLS sight n sounds because the last 10 mins were pretty hectic.

I think i have to change my mind about wah-bel. It looked to me like he acctually was saying, 'NO! NO!' to the ref and got a sigh of duissapointment on his face as the ref walked over to Mathis and pulled out his yellow card. watch it for yourselves, it happened about the 88th minute.

Kind of makes me feel a 'little' sorry for someone chucking a lighter at him. infact you see it happen right after the yellow card.

anyway, whatever. just an observation

I think a San Jose - RSL rivalry may have been started Saturday night.

Or, should we say the San Antonio-RSL rivalry?

I am developing a severe dislike for those Texas teams. FC Dive Squad and San Antonio.
