Soccer Trivia 5/05 Why did only 4 European teams participate in the 1930 World Cup?
Which European soccer power refused to participate in the first three World Cups? What South American soccer power refused to participate in the 1938, 1950 and 1954 World Cups? Which country qualified for the 1938 World Cup only to have its political identity later dissolved? Which country withdrew from the World Cup when it was informed by FIFA that its players couldn’t play barefoot? Which country played a qualifying match in 1974 against a “ghost team” that was boycotting and scored against the absent team’s undefended goal? Which team won the World Cup under the threat of its fanatical dictator? Which Olympic soccer team suffered the murder of 11 of its players? Which country was the first to host the World Cup twice? Which World Cup host secured a bid in the midst of many concerns that the games wouldn’t draw any fans only to later draw sellout crowds? Which two countries co-hosted the World Cup for the first time? Which country came first on the printed tickets? Who is the all-time leading goal-scorer in World Cup history? In what years did he score his goals? Which U.S. club team did he later play for? Which player has scored the most goals in any single World Cup tournament? Which Asian country was the first to win a game in the World Cup tournament? What year was it? Which African country was the first to reach the quarterfinals? What year? What was the only year Haiti qualified for the World Cup? What years has the U.S. qualified for the World Cup? Which U.S. player scored the goal to qualify for the 1990 World Cup? Against whom? In what (non-World Cup) year did the U.S. first beat Argentina? What was the tournament? Which MLS club team first won the CONCACAF Champion’s Cup? What year? Who was the lone goal-scorer? Which MLS club team first won the Interamerican Cup? What year? Who is the most prolific goal scorer in the history of sport?

When you say "history of the sport" are we talking about World Cup games or total goals scored from '10 and under games' to present?
Not that I disagree, well, I do disagree because there's probably some kid in Tanzania who plays against his/her friends down the street and scores a goal every ten seconds for every day for 2 hours and etc etc. etc. I guess I just want the parameters defined a little more. =) Last edited by Scilaci : 05-06-2005 at 09:27 AM.

I'm pretty sure DC United won the interamerican cup in 1998. Wasn't it the Bruce's last hurrah as their coach?
