Thanks for the support ...

I just wanted to say thank you for your support, it seems a few of you emailed Real and 1280 to say you liked what I did! Thanks! I didn't deserve it really, but it was very much appreciated. Anyway it looks like I will be the colour guy on the home games, I guess they have the same guy as last time doing it in LA, shame really, I would like to have done away games.
Thanks again. Wayne

See, they call them Color commentators for a reason. They are supposed to provide color to the broadcast. You give it some personality that is natural. Hatch trys to create it with "kitchen" comments, but he would be wise to understand the flow and such before he tried to be creative.

You, however, understand what those guys are doing on the field. You aren't afraid to razz Hatch and at times give him the guidence he needs to stay on track... like when he forgot to notice the little white ball got passed the guy who wears gloves and went into the back of the net thingy.

That being said... as long as you are on the air, I will be wearing my head phones over there in the press box.

Keep Hatch in line and in time he will get the flow of soccer down. No breaks in this game... you have to watch all 90 minutes or you'll miss something.

You are by far the best guy they have had on the air to date.

In honor of this day, I turned my 2004 Manchester United calendar (that my husband bought for me on a business trip) back to June permanently. June's a hottie. Just kidding... but he coincidentally seems to have the same last name as Scholesy! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Cool. Keep up the good work!

Also, as "color", are you allowed to let us know what's going on in the game? Cause that would be nice ๐Ÿ™‚

1280 should play Mariachi music right before giving the score & time, like 1600 does.

That would be cool.

The Short Blond Hooligan & I are going to try to make it to Iggy's for All You Can Destroy Birria Night.

But in the likely event that we don't make it, I will give 1280 a listen this weekend.

Congrats Wayne!

Remember, it's Tommy Smyth "with a 'Y'" (I find everything about the guy annoying, including his patented signoff).

Echo on the congrats. Good news for RSL fans. Now for those away games . . .
