So, who’s going to be the person to text me updates for this game? 😉

I'm going, although I'll probably be a little late.

The sad thing is, one of my friends was thinking of buying the discounted tickets on Saturday until the FC Dallas debacle happened. Hopefully, not everyone is as plastic... :D

Remind them that it was the #1 team in the west that we lost to, not Cheetos or Crapids. :p

I would rather beat them, of course, but I saw a lot of improvements in that game. I am actually encouraged for the future, not discouraged. :D

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this game. Don't know what to expect, though. This is like the number one team in Chile. We could have picked a little easier target, it seems to me. But maybe after playing them, the next game will seem slow and easy, and they'll win handily. :D

We can always hope.

This one was part of my mini-plan, so I'm planning on being there. I've also got a lot of the left-over meat from the June 4 tailgate - so I've GOT to be there for that at least! :D

Now we just need grills. I think Loyal1 was going to check with Scholesy about getting the car-b-que, and Lucky 13 can probably bring his grills again.

It will seem a little quiet without all of the sammers around.

Are we going to be seeing largely reserve sides from both teams? Are normal substitution rules going to be in effect?

We need taps played again during the intros for the other team again.

There's an article linked on another thread that mentions Los Cruzados.

(That's their nickname)

It's the article about the reaction to the Doubleheader. Supposedly, they've brought a lot of reserves & youth players with them.......

When the Galaxy played games like this, the Lothar, Octavio or Sigi & the visiting coach would agree on a number of subs. Usually 6 or 7. We'd play Mauricio Cienfuegos & Cobi for a half; if at all, then bring on scrubs.

If you want to win a free drink from a Galaxian or a Riot Squader; bet him on which team Kevin Hartman faced in his pro debut. It was Aston Villa, in a friendly back in 1997. Supposedly, Villa's top priority was to get off the field as soon as possible & get on the next flight to Vegas. But Hartman still looked good.

I'd have to double check this, but I think that Octavio gave a recently drafted forward his first pro start back in 1998 in a US Open Cup game. Let's face it, US Open Cups are glorified friendlies. And Clint Mathis turned out to be OK.

Columbus just beat them 4-1 with what sounds like a deep, deep reserves team. It will still be good to play well on grass? before we head to the HDC.
