Ahhh, all clear now. And yes, the horn at the MLS Cup was annoying as hell.

I'm all for horns, drums, flags, and ruckus in general. But beware, Utah has been known to outlaw that which is deemed excessively fun.

We have been told by the FRont Office that they will fight to allow us to have flags. RSL wants us to have them... Rice-Eccles alows them for pointy ball, so I would say... they are going to be allowed. But, let me check and see if there is a definative answer yet.

Alright, now you got me mad! I vow to sit behind all of you and blow my plastic horn. So there! Up with plastic horns. Down with the nay sayers, kill joys, horn haters...(and other normal people)! Of course I also have a little drum, and I spend most of my time on that. I only pull out the horn for goals, and other celebrations. But if the Loyalists ban them, I will (tearfully) leave mine home. Peace at any cost!

Of course it is not up to me to ban horns but I would respectfully request and encourage an open debate on the subject here and at meetings.
Then put it to a vote before the season starts. I am not one to try to spoil any persons fun so I will go with whatever the club members decide.

If the horns come out for goals, I'm all about it, I just don't want someone blowing one in my ear the entire match.

No. Of course not! We'll just beat the drums and chant and sing, the entire game! The horn is just for emphasis.

Not to resurrect an old thread, but did anyone ever find out it flag poles are allowed at Rice-Eccles? Flags look 4839 times better waved rather than just sort of layed on top of things/people. I've made a couple flags as you know and I will make a bunch more if we can wave them around on poles.

I'm on record about plastic horns, and (sorry Jim) I'm totally against them. They make empty, droning, senseless, annoying noise. Supporters cheer, chant, and sing--they don't drone. Don't just take my word for it. Season ticket holders at the HDC complained so much about them, the Galaxy has banned them starting this year. My wife threatened to boycott games if horns were allowed. We've had one too many horns blown in our ears by unsupervised kids to have any patience with them at all (the horms OR the kids). San Jose doesn't allow them either, and that's one of the reasons why my family and I enjoyed watching games at Spartan Stadium, miniature field and all. Ban them now! Saves the club from having to ban them later, after fans complain (or worse, stop coming to games to avoid them). Ready to sign the petition. Flags--gotta have them. Just isn't a supporters' section without flags. I'm sure we can work out an accomodation with RES if they have concerns about poles.

Personally, I think that celebrating goals is about making as much noise as possible, and the horn makes about 10 times as loud a noise as I can. But I am not passionate about the thing. Quote:
If the Loyalists, or the Team, or even RES decide to ban them, or even just "request" they not be used, I will abide by it. Quote:
Here, we're in complete agreement!
