On a more positive note, we need lots of confetti too. That looks really cool.

How about this (an homage to someone's notorious ability to strike fear in foe's hearts through the use of chalk):

We are the Real Army
We dress in red and blue
If you throw stuff on the field
We're gonna chalk you!

Not trying to be devil's advocate or anything, but... some people might see the streamers being thrown on the field and think it's okay to throw stuff.

I think the streamers look cool, but it does kind of create a precedent for idiots to abuse.

Just a thought.

That's a good point. Maybe there should be some kind of announcement saying streamers are okay, but nothing else is. Then maybe even more people would bring them and it would look even cooler. But something official for everyone to see or hear would go a long way to preventing abuses.

How about an announcement that if you throw anything onto the field that is not made of paper, you will be ejected from the stadium?

Not to be a dink but they announce that nothing should be thrown on the pitch every single match but you still get dorks that just don't or won't listen!

I think streamers look cool and show that we are passionate about the match!

If you see someone throw something(other than streamers) on the pitch get security if you are not comfortable confronting that person... OR we can send over that big guy with the mohawk to tell them to stop!

But if they announce that "nothing" should be thrown on the pitch and then people chuck streamers all over the place with no consequence, then the dorks are basically being encouraged to be dorks, you know what I mean?

The problem with the announcement is that they don't make an exception for streamers in it. And then when people who think that it is not okay to throw anything see others getting away with throwing streamers, they think they can get away with something too. I think it needs to be explicitly expressed that streamers, and only streamers, are okay to throw. That way no one gets any other ideas when the streamers start flying.

Maybe the team could assign extra security to keep an eye on the morons.

Or maybe we could even go Euro-style and the team could keep a camera on our section & throw out the morons or maybe even prosecute them based on the video evidence?

Big Lots used to have cheap streamers, back in the Blitzz days.

Small groups can usually take care of unruly members on their own.

This would work wonders:

Pick someone from the group to be a patsy. Have him or her throw something before the game starts (without having it land on the field). Then have all the Loyalists turn around and point and chant at the person "only throw steamers" (or something) for about 2 minutes.
