They were both showing their age in episode IV. I speculate that Obi Wan had arthritus and Darth Vader had rheumatism. I mean after all, they were both collecting Imperial cheese by the time episode IV takes place.

My theory is that Obi Wan didn't practice on Tatooine. Remember, anybody sees him with a lightsaber and they know he's a jedi and he's reported and he's dead. Jutland Wastes... nobody there but him.. but still, can't take the chance. Also, since Anakin became 'more machine than man' he probably couldn't get his metal arms and hands to do as much as his real deals (his arms were made twenty years before Luke's handy dandy, pun intended).

Also, Lucas probably thought the fighting was waaaay awesome in Ep. IV, V, and VI. This was before Crouching Tiger, the Matrix, and Willy Wonka. right?

I predict that one day someone is going to go back and remake all the Star Wars movies. It probably wont be in my lifetime, but I still predict it. There will be things where they say, "Hey, that didn't make sense. I can do it better." and they will do it better. Most importantly, they'll abolish that heinous creature Jar-Jar Binks to eternal oblivion to where he so richly deserves to rest.

It won't be just somebody, it'll be George Lucas. He'll take out everything that was cool from IV, V and VI and he'll add more ewok love fests and Jar Jar bink types. "Meesa have a bad feeling about this." ugh

Gene Wilder was doing somersaults when his cane stuck in the sidewalk crack long before Yoda ever took up his cane in Empire Strikes Back.

That scene where vader breaks the shackles and screams "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" was pure, unadulterated rubbish.
Yeah, I hated that part too - pretty lame.

Talented at talking as Yoda, are you!

Actually the same reports that say SW will transform into a TV show also are definately saying that Lucas will NOT direct/be in charge of the new tv show. He will only be a "creative consultant". So if that was your fear, fear not.

As for the movie, I have a few ideas to debate, if anyone is up for it.

First off, did Windu actually defeat Palpatine or did Palpy let Windu think he won so that he could appeal to Anakin's sorry-state of friendship?

The latter. I'm sure if Anakin hadn't turned on Windu, Palpy would have wasted Windu rather than let him kill him.
