I hope that this isn't true. If they banned all banners, fine. But if they did it because of a religious thing, that is embarassing and feeds into all sorts of stereotypes people already have about Utah.

😲
It could go either way. They might not want to have a sign that labels any section as "undesireable", on the other hand, it's not actually offensive. If you don't want to make the sign and then not be able to use it, contact the F/O and see what they say. Trey is a good one to talk to. In my experience, whoever you call, unless they are extremely busy at that moment, will take time to answer your questions. They've all been extremely helpful to me.

Even if it hadn't been offensive to anyone else at all, I'm pretty sure that Jason wouldn't have liked it. I think it was a good idea to take it down.

Does anyone here have specific and concrete information as to why the banner was taken down and who made the decision? Or is everone here operating on conjecture?

Kind of like El Cucuy can say things on the radio that Howard Stern can't, try, "Jason Kreis, Nuestro Salvador".

I'm sure he will understand it.

I'm bringing in a sign that says "Nuestras Condolencias a la familia Wilson" this Saturday.

I know who made the decision to take it down, but I can't offer anything concrete on exactly why. As far as I'm concerned, I don't really care if it offended anyone other than Jason, which I know it would have. That is reason enough for me to take it down even if there wasn't a single other person offended by it. Should we really be making banners that actually offend the person the banner was made for?

I am only reporting what I saw... the banner was hung by the lil red dudes and as soon as the security guy saw it the lil red dudes were told to remove it!

It was the RSL security guy not just a run of the mill security guy!

Diappointing.

Does RSL security allow other banners (aside from the Loyalists ones) to hang in the stadium?

Um, I think I'll stick to mumbling to myself in the stands instead of making banners.

🙂
