Channel 4 doesn't always suck... just when I am not in to help them sound like they know what they are doing when it comes to soccer. Guess what? That would be game nights and Sunday nights... but the packages tehy run midweek are usually pretty solid.

I will have to agree on the point about Kirkland. It has been a long time since I have watched local news. Recently I decided to give it a try to get some local RSL coverage. I had fond memories of watching SportsBeat w/ Bolerjack, so I figured I would start my local sports show evaluation with SportsBeat. Maybe I am accustomed to watching SportsCenter, but Kirkland was SO bad I couldn't even watch much more than the first few segments. He couldn't even read the teleprompter properly let alone sound interesting or interject anything useful. I just gave up on local TV at that point. I guess maybe I should try out Channel 2 after this thread. Thanks for the info.

BTW, Kirkland and his family walked right in front of my car as we were on our way out of the parking lot. So he should have had plenty of material since he was there...🙂

Ahhh the good old days of SportsBeep with Bolerjack and Brad Steinke.

... But I agree, Kirkland is awful. Channel 2 seems to be the best in my opinion for RSL coverage. Ch. 13 doesn't even talk about RSL at all.

I did some flipping back and forth, and I would agree that channel 2 was superior. Channel four was horrible, and channel five just re-ran a story that they did earlier in the week about Dream Keeper (DJ). Fox 13 is also horrible. So, on that note I would give my vote to channel 2 this week.

Agree about the coverage...

Channel 2 is really doing the best at this right now. I stopped listening to 1280 a while ago, but I may start listening to Hatch because he is not as anti soccer as matt Thomas is as far as radio coverage goes. Bill Riley is where my money would go for ReAL Coverage...

I can't stand listening to Bill Riley, if it wasn't for him doing TV play by play I would never listen to him. Does Riles actually talk about RSL during the week. His producer ERay will try to avoid that whenever possible.

Riley talks about RSL all the time during the week. He does a good job and he's a big soccer fan. He actually knows what he's talking about. I haven't heard anyone else come close.
