3-5-2

Rumor has it that this will be the lineup and formation for Saturday's game:

.......................Countess......................
Dunseth...............Pierce..............Akwari
...........Besagno................Kamler..........
Brown................Williams...........Trembly
............Mathis.................Kreis.............

Besagno.....that name sounds familiar 😉

Besagno??!! With all the guys Dallas will be missing, not a bad time to see what he can do. Plus, he'll have Piece and Dunseth behind him. I like it.

Good point... Dallas has looked a little vacant in the center midfield at times since Mulrooney got injured.

Anyway, it can't be any worse than last week.

Where did you hear this rumor? I like this lineup. Besides being able to see what Besagno is all about, I agree with what someone said in another post that Cleetus is due for a breakout game. I think that he wants to be called up again to the USMNT by the Bruce, and there won't be a better time than Saturday to shine. I think this is the type of scenario that he can thrive in being up top with Kreis.

Heard it from somebody at practice today. Apparently they broke off for a scrimmage between the "A team" and "B team", and everybody was surprised to see Besagno huddled up with the A-teamers!

They did pretty well in a 3-5-2 in the second half of the away Chivas game, but there was a certain Eddie Pope anchoring that back three.

Interesting. Wow.

Hopefully the 3-5-2 can quickly turn into a 5-3-2 on defense or we're screwed. I like the concept, except I don't like Mathis up front. How about Williams over in Brown's position, Mathis at 10, and either Brown, Cila, or Dante up front?

As much as I'm not a big fan of it, I would much rather see Mathis up front rather than Williams out wide. I think that Mathis can handle that much better than Williams would be able to handle the outside. Besides, with Mathis up front, it is sure to get the defense's attention and might free up Kreis. Although that didn't really work at the beginning of the season, but hopefully they've grown together more as a team since then.

Isn't Pierce a little short to play the center defender? just my 2 cents.

would like to see Dante up front personally, cause he is a big guy, and once again with the heigth issue, Kreis just doesnt seem to be able to get up high enough for those headers when he is up against 5 defenders.

I have mixed feelings about starting Besagno. I want to see what he can do, but it seems a bit quick. I would rather see Dunseth in the middle and Pierce out wide.

My daughter screamed when I showed her the potential lineup.
